Purlisse- Blue Lotus Seed Mud Mask + Exfoliant Review

A few weekends ago, I attended the Generation Beauty show in Toronto. I was so excited to see Purlisse as an exhibitor. With my Ipsy subscription, I had the opportunity to try Blue Lotus + White Tea treatment sheet mask sheets and fell in love with this Asian inspired brand. Not only did they give us some great samples during the event such as the Daily moisturizer and BB tinted cream but there was also an opportunity to buy some of their products.

I decided to purchase the Blue Lotus Seed Mud Mask + Exfoliant for $30 Canadian (special event price). The Mud Mask + Exfoliant is one of their latest product. The retail price is $52 US which is a bit high for Canadians as our dollar is not very good.  However, I was amazed with the results and I highly recommend it.

I have a combination skin where my T zone (forehead, nose, and chin) is drier during the winter and oilier during the summer, so multi masking is sometime my best bet. Since I can be lazy, I do like finding products that I can apply all over my face. Sometime a girl just doesn’t want to apply different masks to target specific areas of concerns!

No surprise there that I was so happy to find out that this Mud mask is perfect for all skin types including sensitive. No multi-masking required, YES!!! What else could I have asked for! This mask did not leave my skin dry or irritated, on the contrary, I got an amazing glow, my skin felt so smooth and my pores were clean. The mask helped me to even out my skin texture and took care of those little hormonal breakouts. Should this product be renamed to Fairy Godmother from Cinderella?! I think so!

This 2 in 1 mask + exfoliant is so smooth and easy to apply. After cleaning your skin, you apply a thin layer of the product on your face and you let it dry for 10-15 minutes.  When the mask is set you can remove it with warm water in circular motion near a sink or if you are like me you can hop in a warm shower so you don’t have to worry about making a mess on the counter. I always end up making a mess on the counter when removing face masks! Once you start to feel the mask fading away with the warm water, you start to feel mini beads that are exfoliating your skin. It is such a nice sensation. Make sure to keep that circular motion going until they are all gone. Your skin is now refreshed and ready for the day!

Purlisse recommend using this mask 2-3 times a week. As it is a bit pricey for Canadians, I personally like to use it every week as a royal pampering treatment. I do use other exfoliating products during the week that are a bit less expensive but none of them compare to this product.

I am so glad that I decided to try this new product as the Blue Lotus Seed Mud Mask + Exfoliant is now part of beauty routine.

Ipsy Review: My February 2017 Glam Bag

Welcome back!

With this review, I hope: 1) you will find some new products to try; 2) give you an idea what you could receive in your subscription.img_20170214_165707_630

This month I received:

  1. Luna By Luna Cosmetics Highlighter in Calypso
    • Beautiful colour, and pigment. I didn’t had this colour in my makeup collection, so I did enjoy receiving it. The colour is very mauvy grey so I suggest applying it very lightly on the cheekbone or with a chisel brush on the eyelid as an eyeshadow.
  2. NYX Professional Makeup Butter™ Lipstick in Ripe Berry
    • This lipstick is so buttery! It is a nice change from the matte lipstick which usually dry out the lips. This one feels very nourishing. The colour is beautiful. I highly recommend it if you are looking for something more light and comfortable.
  3. Elizabeth Mott Whatup Beaches Matte Bronzer
    • I was quite surprised with this matte bronzer. I am usually not a fan of bronzer and found myself loving this shade. It works perfectly on my light skin and doesn’t have the shimmery look.
  4. Luxie Beauty Luxie Rose Gold Blush Brush 514
    • This is a very nice soft brush but not my favorite one from Luxie Beauty.  I like my blush brushes thicker and this one is very light on bristles. However, I do find it perfect to highlight the cheeks.
  5. Biobelle Sheet Masks #StayGorgeous and #Iwokeuplikethis
    • These masks are parabens free, gluten free and with no GMO’s. Only negative feedback is that they are not sold in stores in Canada. The only way to buy them is online through Amazon Prime or the shopping channel.
    • #StayGorgeous is made with almond oil and vitamin E to hydrate and nourish your skin. This mask was perfect for me as my skin has been a bit dry lately with this weather.
    • #Iwokeuplikethis is made with wild rose and vitamin C to enhance the natural glow of the skin. This mask is quite amazing and leave your skin so soft.

This February bag is definitively a 5 stars!
